Freedom Rain Speaks Truth Through the Apostles
A youth performance poetry production led by Malaya Ulan incorporating dance, music, singing, and theater. We used our modalities to speak our truths and archive our stories freely, showing the value of youth voices. This performance was held at Studio 34, West Philadelphia for Philly Theater Week and was a culmination of Malaya Ulan's poetry workshop series Freedom Rain Speaks for her Youth Poet Laureate of Philadelphia tenure.

Workshops
Since 2024, Malaya Ulan has led free poetry and poetry in motion workshops. Her poetry workshop series Freedom Rain Speaks seeks to provide poetry outlets for our communities and build a cohort of young poets for future collective works.

Art Exhibits
Since her production, Freedom Rain Speaks Truth Through the Apostles, Ulan has taken the work further, creating a photojournalism, essay, and poetry collection, Freedom Rain Speaks. Her work was featured for the Not Safe For Teens youth art exhibiton at the Cavalry Art Center in Philadelphia.
